Tree Tunnel (Kauai, Hawaii, United States)
Also known as the "Garden Isle," Kauaʻi ([kɐˈwɐʔi] in Hawaiian) is the oldest and fourth largest of the main Hawaiian Islands. Legend has it that Hawaiʻiloa, the Polynesian navigator who discovered the Hawaiian Islands, named it after his favorite son.
The Kaua'i Tree Tunnel is a stretch of hundreds of Eucalyptus Robusta lining both sides of Maluhia Road. A gift from pineapple baron Walter McBryde, the first trees were planted in 1911.
The tunnel is the gateway to southern Kauai and one of the landmarks of the island.
