Also known as the "Pink City," Toulouse is the fourth largest city in France. It is located on the banks of the River Garonne, 150 kilometres from the Mediterranean Sea, 230 km from the Atlantic Ocean and 680 km from Paris.
The Hôtel-Dieu Saint-Jacques is a former hospital. It was founded in 1313 and used as a "house of charity" and leper colony. Now, it hosts the medicine museum, which displays many objects dating from the second half of the 19th century to the present day.
